Israeli Pre-Election Analysis

From Aaron Klein at World Net Daily -
"One day before national elections here, Jerusalem police this morning closed the Temple Mount to Jews and Christians in response to what officials say are specific threats – mostly by Muslim groups – related to disrupting the voting."
"We had information that if the Jews come to the Temple Mount, the Muslims will start violence."
"But Raed Sallah, leader of the Islamic Movement, an extremist group that promotes Muslim sovereignty over the Mount, reportedly has been delivering speeches at Israeli mosques urging Muslims to rush to the Al Aqsa Mosque on the Mount before elections to protect it from "Jewish attacks.""

The Real Effect
We seem to have some confusion about this situation and my experience has taught me that when things are somewhat obscure, both sides may have valid information. In this case it seems plausible that both sides are telling some of the truth. As such what do we know for sure?
  1. Muslims have provoked violence at the site before.
  2. Muslims appear to have unrestricted access to the site a day before Israeli elections.
  3. Muslims are claiming that they would like to "protect it from "Jewish attacks."
  4. Israel could attack their own site.
  5. In order to have Jerusalem as the world's undivided epicenter for world religion, the Dome of the Rock has to go.

Keep an eye on the morning prayers at the site as being a potential target for an attack on the Dome of the Rock. If this happens, Iran will inevitably be blamed, Israel will launch attacks on Iran and a solid protectorate candidate will win in the Israeli elections.

Iran Threatening Israel?

According to Aaron Klein from World Net Daily (WND) -
"Iran has ordered Palestinian terror groups to carry out a large-scale bombing inside Israel before elections here next week, security officials told WorldNetDaily."

"Officials say Iran has instructed the Islamic Jihad and West Bank cells of the Fatah-linked Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terror groups to infiltrate immediately an Israeli city and carry out a mass-casualty attack. "

For those of you not following Israel at this time, elections will be held on March 28th, 2006 (Tuesday) to decide the new Prime Minister.

The Real Effect
Could the Dome of the Rock be a potential target here? I know, it doesn't make sense on it's surface but follow me here. Things we know so far:
  1. Muslims (at least some Muslims) are willing to blow up each others mosques.
  2. The Dome is the 3rd most revered site to Muslims and the holiest site to Jews.
  3. While there is some dispute over the exact location, the general location is the home of Judaism's 3rd temple.
So, if the Dome is blown up, Muslims everywhere go berserk and blame Israel. Israel attacks Iran in response and the U.S. comes to Israel's aid. Hmmmm...a very possible scenario.

U.N. of Religions & The Downfall of Religion

In my New Year's Predictions for 2006 I posted the following -
"With 'radicals' being blamed for most if not all of the terrorist acts in the world, Look for a start of a clarion call to 'harmonize' and 'unite' the world in their common belief in a creator. The problem? It's a set-up for a one-world religion that defies Satan and man."

Let's clear one thing up. In that posting I meant to say "defies God and enthrones Satan and man" however I have a rule of not altering the text of a post once I put it up. True, I may alter the formatting to ensure readability, but I would like to ensure that all my readers can believe that I am not padding my predictions. Ok, on to the news.

According to the BBC -
"The Chief Rabbi of Israel, Yona Metzger, has called for the creation of a world body with representatives from the major religious groups. He called for the formation of a "United Nations of religious groups"."
The Real Effect
This is not all that surprising. Anyone that studies the Holy Scriptures knows that this will be the general trend. Look for continued debate on this particular subject with the emphasis being on 'ending all the killing in the name of religion'.

Iran - Did Bush Tip His Hand?

The AFP ran an article that stated -

"US President George W. Bush said he hoped to resolve the nuclear dispute with Iran with diplomacy, but warned Tehran he would "use military might" if necessary to defend Israel."
""The threat from Iran is, of course, their stated objective to destroy our strong ally Israel. That's a threat, a serious threat. It's a threat to world peace," the US president said after a speech defending the war in Iraq.""

Of course this is nothing new, as Bush has stated similar things previously and Israel has stated that they would act if the U.N. did not.

The Real Effect
It is quite possible that Bush is outlining how to get into Iran here. But in order to justify that, Israel would have to do enough to provoke Iran into either defending itself or attacking Israel. But would bombing the nuclear facilites at Bushehr be enough to provoke Iran?

Bird Flu - The Shamdemic Continues

U.S. Interior Secretary Gale Norton has come out to spook the American public into buying into the bird flu tripe. Norton is quoted by Reuters as saying -

it was "increasingly likely" that bird flu would be detected in the United States as early as this year.

In addition,
"Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns unveiled a plan to increase monitoring of migratory birds that are likely to bring the bird flu virus to U.S. shores."

The Real Effect
Perhaps this is being stated to push the funding of the pandemic flu fund that passed 99-1 on Friday in the senate with the stated intent -
"To provide for the establishment of a reserve fund concerning pandemic influenza preparedness planning."
It's all about the money. Need I say more?

Gasoline Recap

I just drove by the local gas stations here in Racine and saw prices hovering around the $2.59 mark.

Roughly seven weeks ago I made the following prediction -
"Look for gas prices to rise to roughly $2.70-$2.85 over the next few months to set the pace for $4 gasoline this summer."

The Real Effect
We're not quite to $2.70 yet, but the price is coming. It's just going to take a bit of time.

$9 Trillion Debt and Senior Citizens

The Senate has voted to increase the debt to almost $9 trillion dollars. For those keeping track, that is a 50% increase in the national debt since 2002. Yes, in just 4 short years we have managed to dig an even larger hole for ourselves.

The Real Effect
It doesn't bother me that our country is in debt. Debt is something that becomes a normal cycle of living in as much as you sometimes run a surplus and at times you owe someone. What does bother me is the attitude that surrounds this latest increase. A couple of observations:
  1. Republicans play ostrich when it comes to Bush's inability to keep the credit card firmly in the pocketbook. Their answer? 'It's a post 9/11 world.'
  2. Most politicians are behaving as though the general coffers are their own personal re-election promissory fund. Who can forget Rep. Tom Delay (R) coming out and declaring "victory" on the war on budget fat? And these are the conservatives?
  3. Inflation and personal saving is becoming a real problem. We can thank NAFTA and CAFTA for that one. Remember, when it comes to FTAA, just say no.

This brings me to my primary point. As a whole, senior citizens have checked out.

The so called "Greatest Generation" has shown the stamina of one Mike Tyson. Sure, in their prime they destroyed all competition, but they have grown fat and lazy on Social Security contracts. This isn't to say that past sacrifices are not appreciated, but what good does it do to defeat Hitler at the back door and let Stalin in the front?

The founding fathers risked everything they owned in order to create the possibility that subsequent generations could grasp liberty. Yet, virtually anyone over the age of 50 seems content with worrying about their problems. This generation has cashed out all their chips in hopes of hitting the jackpot and have come home to roost with a door prize. Worse still, the following generation seems worse.

Let us take a moment and thank those that still labor for our collective liberty in spite of immense opposition. God bless the troops, the Minutemen and others who have revived the true spirit of freedom in hopes to save the Republic that their forefathers labored to create.

Iran Watch - Growing Rhetoric

According to Mosnews back on February 16th, ultra-psycho Vladimir Zhirinovsky came out as stating "a U.S. attack against Iran was “inevitable.”" and "The date for the strike is already known — it is the election day in Israel (March 28)."

Seeing as how Zhirinovsky was a raving lunatic at least half the time, I was extremely wary to run the news on my site. However, even the most delusional of us is privy to good and timely information so I decided to pair this information with other notable reports.
John Bolton, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations "has told British MPs that military action could bring Iran's nuclear programme to a halt if all diplomatic efforts fail." All of this comes right before the meeting of the IAEA to refer Iran to the U.N. Security Council.

The Real Effect
Seeing as how there are so many different ways to handle the situation, I am unsure of what the script is on the Iran situation. It has been roughly five years since the last major terrorist incident in the United States so one form of logic would dictate that in order to justify the invasion in the American psyche, the US would need to be attacked as it was before the Iraq war. Yet there has been no attack as of yet. Perhaps Israel will launch the attack and the U.S. will assist.

The truth be told, the date hardly matters as much as the effect this action will have on the mideast as a whole. Of course according to Dick Cheney we could just nuke the entire region.

The Iranian solution will be an invasion. The overiding question is when?
