Lethal Drones Coming to the US?

A lobbyist steps in to give his two cents -
Testifying against a bill that would put limits on the use of unmanned drones in Washington state, industry lobbyist Paul Applewhite shocked a House Committee hearing when he said that drones had been used for “indiscriminate killings,” while arguing that the technology should be approved for “lethal force” within the United States.

Applewhite is president of Seattle-based Applewhite Aero, a company “founded to provide unmanned systems and training to government and industry.”

When asked if restrictions should be placed on the use of drones until the direction of where the technology is going becomes clearer, Applewhite responded, “My opinion is that the way that we’re currently using drones in warfare, we’re moving away from indiscriminate killing to discriminate killing,” prompting gasps from the audience.
This really shouldn't be all that surprising. Posse Comitatus was a casualty of the Global War On Terror and with the passage of the NDAA, the Domestic Security Enhancement Act and other such federal nasties, the government has made it perfectly clear that it sees ordinary citizens not as citizens but rather as "potential terrorists".

Now all that's left is to do the logical leap from 'concept' to 'implementation' to understand that this will be another "tool" that will be utilized by police, para-military, and Federal thugs to further enhance and integrate their complete control of their little fiefdoms.

If you doubt this concept, think about the explosion of taser usage and subsequent deaths in the last decade. While sometimes utilized appropriately, it was often used as a 'comfort buffer' for many 'threatened' officers. Do you really believe that the local branch of the national police will say no to increased funding, promotions and more tools to prosecute the war on everything drugs?

Why do you think those Census workers needed your front door's GPS coordinates?
