FTAA? Here comes the American Union...

With the next Summit of the Americas Meeting approaching so quickly (November 4-5), I thought it would be a great time to review.
  1. Bush has stated that he wants to sign and implement the FTAA by the end of the year.
  2. The FTAA would eventually become the American Union which will eventually become part of the Global Union.
  3. Most people have been duped into believing that this is ONLY about trade and not about authority. This is how the EU was formed.
  4. The Democrats only voted against CAFTA because the Republicans were in power. They're in this thing up to their eyeballs as well.
  5. ALL OF THAT, is a bad thing.

There is an excellent article in The New American which discusses the upcoming battle over the Free Trade Area of the Americas or what will be known as the American Union. Here is a clip of what they had to say -
Last March, President Bush met in Waco with Mexican President Vicente Fox and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin to announce the creation of a "Security and Prosperity Partnership" for North America (SPP). Building on the North American Free Trade Agreement, the SPP would deepen the economic, political, and security relationships between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada."

"Robert Pastor of the Council on Foreign Relations, who is one of the co-architects of the SPP's blueprint, has explained that the vision behind that initiative calls for citizens of the U.S., along with Mexicans and Canadians, to cease thinking of themselves as citizens of their respective countries, and embrace a new identity as "North Americans."
The Real Effect
Still don't believe that we are barreling towards an American Union? What are you waiting for, proof? Ask yourself, at what point do I believe this is real? What is my burden of proof? Do I need American Union cops standing on the street corner in order to believe? Well, here is some more evidence for those of you that have a difficult time getting past your pride on this one.

Here is a link to the state of Florida's (specifically Miami) bid to become the capitol (yes, capitol) of the American Union. Look at some of the info and symbols on the pages. Notice the three triangles in the upper-left corner? What do you suppose those stand for? Perhaps the U.S. Canada and Mexico? Notice the "Why Miami?" advertisement in the top bar.

Here is a link to one of their publications. Notice the "MIAMI, Florida is the Gateway of the Americas"?

I suppose if you like the in-laws living in your house, rent-free, totally on your dime in many cases. Then, ya, bring 'em on! Just wait until we start talking common defense.
