Hurricane Sandy, Oddities and Past Events

They say that history doesn't repeat so much as rhyme. True to form, this has been a very interesting storm so far. Let's start with the timing, one week before the election and hot on the heels of the Benghazi story -
Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. consulate and subsequent attack several hours later on the annex itself was denied by the CIA chain of command -- who also told the CIA operators twice to "stand down" rather than help the ambassador's team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.

Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired, they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to "stand down," according to sources familiar with the exchange. Soon after, they were again told to "stand down."
Add to this the unclassified cables and you have a downright damning indictment of the Obama administration's handling of Benghazi. One would think that one week prior to historic national elections, news such as this would be dominating the headlines and not a presumptive deadly storm.

Add in the abysmal outlook of futures for the markets and dismal 3Q earnings reports and things get even more interesting -
With equity cash and futures markets closed, we thought it useful to gauge where equities might have closed if they were trading. As so many need month-end marks for reporting and OPEX-based hedgers are likely anxious, we thought getting some perspective from what the machines are seeing would be useful. With Kevin Henry gone gray as Treasuries closed, risk-assets slipped modestly on the day - with a late day push to the lows on the back of Merkel's 'nein' on euro-bonds. To wit, based on the dependence with FX and commodity markets, S&P 500 futures would be trading under the critical 1400 level. - and based on the Toronto Stock Exchange, S&P 500 cash would be trading around 1404 (down around 8pts on the day). S&P futures are set to re-open at 1700ET 1800ET (and based on CME's site will close again at 0915ET tomorrow).

All of that alone, would be enough to raise some eyebrows over the odd timing over such events. Could such events be influenced? Nah. Surely they can't be orchestrated? Just to bring in the bizarre, we get the following from the coincidence machine -
Back in the late 90s, the National Hurricane Center in Miami conducted a drill based on a fictional hurricane named Sandy. In the drill, the storm strikes the East Coast.

The fictitious storm was modeled after the Hurricane of 1938. The “Long Island Express” was a Category 3 hurricane that hit Long Island and killed nearly 800 people cause nearly $5 billion in damages.

The hurricane now projected to hit the New Jersey coast is being compared to the Long Island Express.

A web page has surfaced from 1996 (the date is timestamped on the page’s source code) with “texts of the simulated bulletins, forecasts, discussions and strike probabilities along with the hurricane’s track were sent home with the seminar attendees. We named the simulated hurricane after Sandy, who incidentally was nine years old during the real Hurricane of 1938.”

The page is posted on the Westchester Emergency Communications Association website. It received an update by Alan Crosswell on Friday, October 17, 1997.

Of course they would have to have some sort of method of accomplishing this. For that we turn to a Friday report from HAARP news -
HaarpStatus has finally come to a bullseye over what looks like Rhode Island and Connecticut.

Current projections at NOAA say Hurricane Sandy will hit New Jersey. Our status numbers disagree. The storm is being steered toward the higher concentration numbers.

Truly remarkable numbers and it is one to archive because this may never be seen again in a very long time.

Wavelengths -
Shortwaves indicate near events, a high short spike usually means a short term major event is about to happen in that area.

Longwaves and steady increases usually mean a large scale change is developing in the area that will effect a large area’s upper level jet stream.
But is this sort of thing, real? Of course -
Dr. Nick Begich and Jeane Manning are experts on HAARP and its military application. “Put simply, the apparatus for HAARP is a reversal of a radio telescope; antenna send out signals instead of receiving. HAARP is the test run for a super-powerful radiowave-beaming technology that lifts areas of the ionosphere by focusing a beam and heating those areas. Electromagnetic waves then bounce back onto earth and penetrate everything — living and dead,” they explain.

The U.S. government admits electromagnetic manipulation of weather is a reality. In 1996, during a Department of Defense news briefing, Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen said governments can “alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves.”

or
As weather modification expert Ben Livingston, who has a degree in cloud physics from the Naval Weapons Center and Navy Post Graduate School in California, told Alex Jones in 2005, hurricane behavior can be modified by seeding clouds with silver iodide. The University of Colorado and others have published reports on the effectiveness of cloud seeding.

Ben Livingston “seeded clouds and dramatically increased rainfall in his theater of war, creating impassably muddy roads, slowing down the Vietnamese and Korean troops, and saving lives and entire towns from occupation,” Paul and Steve Watson reported on October 14, 2055.
Now, does any of this prove anything? No, not at all. But it does certainly raise some eyebrows given the bizarre timing. We would do best to keep our eyes peeled for more of this if we are to prove anything.

On Taxes, Loopholes and the Like

Mitt reportedly does the same thing that the rest of the elite do -
In 1997, Congress cracked down on a popular tax shelter that allowed rich people to take advantage of the exempt status of charities without actually giving away much money.

Individuals who had already set up these vehicles were allowed to keep them. That included Mitt Romney, then the chief executive officer of Bain Capital, who had just established such an arrangement in June 1996.

The charitable remainder unitrust, as it is known, is one of several strategies Romney has adopted over his career to reduce his tax bill. While Romney’s tax avoidance is legal and common among high-net-worth individuals, it has become an issue in the campaign. President Barack Obama attacked him in their second debate for paying “lower tax rates than somebody who makes a lot less.”

In this instance, Romney used the tax-exempt status of a charity -- the Mormon Church, according to a 2007 filing -- to defer taxes for more than 15 years. At the same time he is benefitting, the trust will probably leave the church with less than what current law requires, according to tax returns obtained by Bloomberg this month through a Freedom of Information Act request.

In general, charities don’t owe capital gains taxes when they sell assets for a profit. Trusts like Romney’s permit funders to benefit from that tax-free treatment, said Jonathan Blattmachr, a trusts and estates lawyer who set up hundreds of such vehicles in the 1990s.
Where to start with this mess? For starters, I do not hold it against individuals that abide by 'the rules of the game' and in many situations, that's exactly what they are doing. I do oppose the rules to the game in general however simply because it has become so complex, so asinine and so burdensome to comply that the whole thing becomes a separate career unto itself. As a general rule, if you need a CPA just to figure out what your personal tax burden is, the whole thing is far too complicated. But this is exactly what is needed to destabilize things.

I would go so far as to argue that a decent percentage of our current woes come from the very concept of 'structuring' itself. Don't want to pay taxes? Form a charity, call it the 'Me Charity', send all of the income you make to charity, as a donation from the goodness of your heart of course, pay someone to give some real needy kids something they need and pay yourself an exorbitant salary to oversee this whole hassle. (In line with other compassionate salaries of course.) Then, if you're questioned, your supporters can attack someone for the temerity of suggesting that you don't pay 'your fair share'. After all, what's my fair share? And what I did was legal.

It is this constant inanity that has people screaming about rich (relative term) people ducking (ambiguous) their fair share (another relative term). Just who is rich? Who's ducking? (After all, it's legal.) And what is a fair share? All these questions serve to do is enrage a base into a form of class warfare. Get the producers! is the war cry as "saving" becomes synonymous with "hoarding". After all, you're not spending enough to avoid the paradox of thrift!

Overall, this kind of discussion is like playing a game of football with moving end zones, impossible to make progress or figure the rules out.

What to do? Just give the cash to the banksters and politicians, they know what to do with it.

Thermite explosion, one of the best 9/11 video evidence so far.

The 'Under 21' Argument

You would think we could get some form of consistency here -
The United States may ban federally licensed firearms dealers from selling handguns to people under age 21, an appeals court ruled on Thursday, in a defeat for the National Rifle Association.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Houston rejected the NRA's argument that 18- to 20-year-olds had a right to buy the guns under the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, as well as the equal protection clause of the Fifth Amendment.

A unanimous three-judge panel said Congress, in a law dating from 1968, adopted the sales ban to help curb violent crime. It also said that the nation's founders and 19th-century courts and commentators believed that disarming specific groups did not trample on the right to bear arms.

"Congress was focused on a particular problem: young persons under 21, who are immature and prone to violence, easily accessing handguns," mainly from licensed dealers, Judge Edward Prado wrote for the panel.

"The present ban appears consistent with a longstanding tradition of age- and safety-based restrictions on the ability to access arms," he added.
This stuff is getting so convoluted, it's amazing this country functions at all. Which angle is an individual supposed to take this from? Well, let's finish the article first -
In reaching its conclusion, the 5th Circuit also rejected an NRA request that it apply "strict scrutiny" in considering the sales ban.

It said a less rigorous review was appropriate because the law did not prevent 18- to 20-year-olds from using handguns for self-defense and other lawful purposes, and people subject to the ban would eventually surmount it by turning 21.

"The government has satisfied its burden of showing a reasonable means-ends fit between the challenged federal laws and an important government interest," Prado wrote.

Prado was appointed to the 5th Circuit by President George W. Bush. He was joined in his opinion by Judge Carolyn Dineen King, who was appointed by President Jimmy Carter; and Judge Catharina Haynes, who was also appointed by Bush.
Now, I can't speak to any particulars on the case, only on the generalities being offered by the article but the first thing that jumps out at me is that this was a unanimous decision and 2 of the individuals were appointed by...Bush. (So much for the concept of conservatives making important judicial appointments)

You see, the Federal government has taken on this 'interested party' routine a lot lately whereby the conversations are transformed from being a non-existent third party mediating issues to being one of the injured parties. Some of that can be seen in the following comments -
"The government has satisfied its burden of showing a reasonable means-ends fit between the challenged federal laws and an important government interest," Prado wrote.
Government interests eh? And what are these interests?
"Congress was focused on a particular problem: young persons under 21, who are immature and prone to violence, easily accessing handguns,"
Ahhhhhh...and now the big evil comes into view. "There ought to be a law..." asserts itself again. In this particular situation, there is a law, but it's not good enough because we don't want something, namely gun violence.

You will routinely find this with free-market tinkerers. Things are good, we just need to tweak it a bit. Of course the cause is always noble and you can count on them being incommunicado when the consequential roosters of their experimentation come home to roost. Perhaps the violence has another cause that you need to investigate, but even that ignores the much larger issues -
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. ~ 2nd Amendment
Oh my, that causes some problems doesn't it? The supreme law says that Congress, which coincidentally gets its authority from the supreme law, cannot infringe the people's rights. Last I checked 18 was considered a person, no?

But this raises a much larger issue that's been finding it's way into the American psyche as of late, specifically tiered rights. We see this with regards to many of the discussion cropping up in judicial circles, social networking, and journalism. Let's examine the example provided -
"Congress was focused on a particular problem: young persons under 21, who are immature and prone to violence, easily accessing handguns,"
Here's how this conversation should have gone.
"Congress was focused...."
"Do they have authority?"
"No"
"Next item on the agenda."

...buuuuut, that's not how it went. So let's look at the next thought process.
"...young persons under 21, who are immature.."
Now right there, this should give everyone pause. Know why?

No?

Here, I'll give you a hint. According to definition, just who is mature?

Got it? Old people.

The statement made is a relative statement. Of course younger people are immature, they're SUPPOSED TO BE BY DEFINITION. Put another way, are 5 year-olds good with checkbooks? Of course not, they haven't gotten to that point yet. Guess what, 20 year-olds are going to be more prone to violence than 80 year olds because they are young and inexperienced and full of testosterone. (Seriously, watch some toddlers deal with toy distribution once, you'll get the idea.)

The difference between children and 'young adults' is in the legalities of the whole thing. We have decided in this country that 18 is the age at which we will hold individuals, instead of their parents, accountable for their actions. (As an aside, I think a good case can be made for making that age 15-16, if not 13) As such, the first time these individuals start experiencing the full ramifications of their decisions is 18. Some individuals are slow learners and as such, it takes them a few years to learn how not to be an idiot.

In total, this has the real effect of delaying adulthood and responsibility. The stats are bearing this out and the consequences are punishing us. Marriage rates are way down, childbearing is way down, the prison population is exploding and the country's culture is decaying.

However, we've figured out that trying 16 year old murderers works. Why? Because we are holding what should be an adult, to an adult standard. This action has a chilling effect on would be child murderers because they know they can go to jail. (If you doubt this, ask what would happen if ever person under 18 knew they could kill without legal consequence. Hint - The gangs would hire 17 year-olds to do all the shooting because it would be legal.)

Overall, this country thinks it can tweak everything to the point that it will all just...work. This is foolhardy though because moving the standards, also moves the goal post. The harsh reality though is that biology is a constant and the consequences of denying its reality are corroding the pillars of the New Utopian Construct that the elite desire so desperately.

Ducumentary on IRAN Iran Is Not the Problem; Stop War on IRAN

TSA Absurdity Results In Legal Prosecution and Sentencing

The first 'legal precedents' for refusing to be assaulted come back -
A woman who stood up to TSA screeners and refused to allow them to grope her or her 14 year old daughter has been found guilty of “disorderly conduct” and sentenced to one year of probation by a court in Tennessee. Back in July 2011, Andrea Fornella Abbott of Clarksville, was arrested by Nashville airport authorities for expressing outrage at the TSA procedures.

A police report stated that Abbott would not allow her daughter to be “touched inappropriately” or have her “crotch grabbed”. Abbott also refused to submit to a full body scan, saying that she did not want her or her daughters’ naked bodies revealed by the scanner.
This is not a left or a right issue, this is a liberty issue and both sides refuse to address it.
So what's a mom to do? Gather evidence -
The report noted that she attempted to take cell phone video of the incident but was prevented from doing so by the TSA screeners.
So, we're a free nation, unless they decide we're not? How about the 4th Amendment?
When police were called to the scene, Abbott reportedly cursed at them and referred to the TSA screeners as pedophiles, leading to her arrest.

The Associated Press reports that the prosecution argued that Abbott’s behavior “prevented others from carrying out their lawful activities,” and held up two security lines for thirty minutes.

“You can speak your mind, but you can’t do it in an illegal manner,’ said Assistant District Attorney Megan King, adding “What the defendant did was a crime.”
Word to the wise. This is exactly why you need to be blameless in your actions. The script was effectively flipped on her from 'the outrage expressed over her child being molested' to 'illegal activity' which in actuality amounted to nothing more than admitted swearing at some cops. I think most of America would have been swearing at that point.
The defense argued that Abbot was exercising her right to free speech. “Telling a police officer your opinion, even in strong language, to me that’s a First Amendment right,” Abbot’s attorney Brent Horst told reporters.

Abbott herself admitted that she may have cursed at police officers, but considered the exchange to be a “normal conversation” regarding the inappropriate nature of pat-downs on children.

Horst presented surveillance video of the incident, and claimed that Abbot was the one being yelled at by police. Although the video had no audio, it showed that other passengers were walking around Abbot and the police officers, and that security lines were still moving.
Consider for a moment that absolute absurdity of this situation - Becoming irate that your child is about to subjected to policy by being groped, in violation of the law, is a crime which needs to be prosecuted and punished whereas actually sexually grabbing a child in clear violation of law is not.

This is the kind of pure garbage which causes riots.

Of course the TSA is going to stop there, right? They're done with their slippery slope?
The TSA is also operating bizarre obedience training programs, including the ridiculous “all stop” policy where travelers are ordered to freeze on the spot for no reason whatsoever. Again, the TSA has admitted that travelers are not mandated to comply with these bizarre displays of security theater.

The TSA has characterized people who do not fully comply with airport screening procedures, no matter how bizarre or invasive, as “domestic extremists.”
So basically in the end game, you are a terrorist if you disagree with the policy.

Yeah, CLOSE THE TSA...NOW.

"Legalized Plunder of the American People" - G. Edward Griffin

Google Misses, Wall Street Panics

Shades of 2008 as the train comes off the tracks yet again -
Google is down over 8% as it reported earnings early and surprised to the downside...
GOOGLE 3Q REV. EX TAC $11.33B, EST. $11.83B
GOOGLE 3Q ADJ. EPS $9.03, EST. $10.65
Q3 REVENUE EX-TAC $11.33 BLN VS EXP. $11.83 BN
Q3 NETWORK REVENUE USD 3.13 BLN

As of right now, Google is down 9% and halted trading with Zero Hedge reporting a downside of -12.5% when the stock resumes trading. As I have been saying for years now, this model is unsustainable and therefore will collapse. I mean think about it, in order to be the giant company that it is, Apple has had to -
  • Rig international trade to swing production costs (Not that they accomplished this themselves, they merely utilized something that was created)
    • Which has polluted the environment in China
    • Enslaved entire castes of their people
    • Shifted factory jobs from the West to the East
  • Selling impoverished Americans who are using their student loans to buy the latest status symbol which they intend to pay back with the jobs that have shifted to China
  • Which are locked down and requires expensive tech support or costly hardware for replacement
Where can you go wrong?

Facebook was a warning shot. Google is a body blow. The fatalities are coming, soon.

IMF Riot Shift to Phase II, Provocations Imminent?

The "Arab Spring" and the next phase of the collapse threatens the United States -
Despite the issue receiving national media attention, Obama supporters continue to threaten to riot if Mitt Romney wins the presidential election, raising the prospect of civil unrest if Obama fails to secure a second term.

Checking Twitter feeds this morning, we discovered that threats to riot on behalf of Obama supporters are still flooding in, with the users seemingly unaware of the fact that the media has now picked up on the buzz.

We checked the Twitter accounts and virtually all of them are owned by people who have made hundreds or thousands of previous tweets, proving they are genuine accounts and not fakes.

Examples of what people are saying include the following;

“If obama dont get re-elected & romney wins .. on life every white persons getting pistol whipped and im startin a riot.” (SOURCE)

Indeed. As the article points out, these sorts of things are generally managed from a central perspective and Kissinger says as much -
In a recent statement Henry Kissinger admitted that social upheaval and mass civil unrest are to be used as a means of merging the US into an “international system”.

“The United States has to be part of an international system that we create domestically”, he told The Harvard Crimson in the beginning of this month. When asked what the most important problems are facing American society today, Kissinger answered:

“Internationally, the problem is that there are upheavals going on in every part of the world, but these upheavals don’t follow the same basic causes, and so the United States has to be part of an international system that we create domestically.”
Got that? He's admitting Ordo Ab Chao (Look it up) in the US in order to merge us into an international system. This is the destabilization phase of the longer reaching Religious War (Series) that is being used to demonize religion. Look for a continuing resurgence in class warfare which first seeks to commit countries to civil war before turning their sights across the world to 'the other nations who did this to us!'

Turkey Forces Down Syrian Commercial Airliner

Hell bent is a great term for it -
Confirmation that Turkey is hell bent on provoking conflict with Syria that could easily escalate into a regional war arrived last night when the Turks intercepted a Syrian commercial airliner bound for Damascus, falsely claiming the plane was carrying military equipment.

Despite the fact that the Turks could have asked to inspect the plane’s cargo and had it land in Turkey by consent, they instead chose to unleash a show of force by having Turkish Air Force F-16 jets aggressively intercept the plane and force it to land in Ankara as soon as the airliner crossed into Turkish airspace.

The airliner was en-route from Moscow with 30 passengers, 17 of which were Russian. Russia reacted angrily to the incident, saying it was refused access to the citizens for 8 hours and that their lives were put in danger.

Turkey initially claimed it had intelligence suggesting weapons were on board the plane but later admitted that all it had seized was communications equipment. Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu claimed the confiscated equipment was “illegal cargo,” a term that was later watered down to “objectionable” cargo.

According to passengers, masked men boarded the plane when it landed and proceeded to beat four people.
This isn't just bad, this is horrific. Where to start?

Saying you 'have intelligence' on something is one of the oldest tricks in the book. When you get control of the other persons effects, you can then drum up some sort of claim of subversive activity and then by proxy gain control of the other party. This is part of why we have a 4th Amendment in this country to prohibit this sort of nonsense. The reason we can see that it's nonsense is that inflammatory words are used to describe the 'contraband' that was seized -

military equipment
“illegal cargo,”
“objectionable” cargo.

This is not a descriptor of equipment that was found, it is a vapid declaration to enrage and galvanize the international community into supporting a Turkish and by association, NATO war.

For Turkey to use F-16 to force down a commercial jet is just a flat-out escalation. There is no danger here, no immediate repercussions outside of the norm. The fact that there were 17 Russians on the plane, which might have been beaten, is sure to enrage the bear even further. At this point, I believe Syria should avoid Turkish airspace if possible and if not, send military escorts to ensure their safety. If I were Russia, I'd be openly threatening Turkey at this point, something I'm certain Putin will do at least through back channels.

At this point, if Syria were to declare war on Turkey, I believe their actions would be justified.

US Troops In Lebanon, Possible Regional War Igniting

The US admits their presence in Jordan -
The United States military has secretly sent a task force of more than 150 planners and other specialists to Jordan to help the armed forces there handle a flood of Syrian refugees, prepare for the possibility that Syria will lose control of its chemical weapons and be positioned should the turmoil in Syria expand into a wider conflict.

The task force, which has been led by a senior American officer, is based at a Jordanian military training center built into an old rock quarry north of Amman. It is now largely focused on helping Jordanians handle the estimated 180,000 Syrian refugees who have crossed the border and are severely straining the country’s resources.
Yeah, refugee help. I'm sure. This ignores the fact that the troops have been there for close to a year -
Whistleblower activist Sibel Edmonds reported on Sunday that “foreign military groups, estimated at hundreds of individuals,” have taken up positions in the city of al-Mafraq in northern Jordan on the Syrian border.

An update on Edmonds’ blog, Boiling Frogs, states that a “journalist with a major mainstream media publication was told by his editors that there would be no coverage or follow up on these developments.”

The presence of foreign troops were also reported by a Jordanian military officer who asked to remain anonymous. He said hundreds of soldiers who speak languages other than Arabic were seen during the past two days (as of Sunday) moving back and forth in military vehicles between the King Hussein Air Base in al-Mafraq, ten kilometers from the Syrian border, and the vicinity of Jordanian villages near the Syrian border, including Albaej, the area around the dam of Sarhan, the villages of Zubaydiah and al-Nahdah adjacent to the Syrian border.
Of course Mitt Romney weighs in on the Syria situation and promptly stick his head in his posterior -
Mitt Romney called Monday for a change of course in America's Middle East policy, accusing President Obama of sitting on the sidelines in the face of a "profound upheaval" across the region. The Republican nominee pledged that, if elected, he would prosecute a far more engaged foreign policy, including helping to arm the opposition in Syria's bloody civil war.
Oh, you mean this opposition Mitt?
In an interview with BBC News (watch video), Clinton states, “We have a very dangerous set of actors in the region, Al-Qaeda, Hamas, and those who are on our terrorist list, to be sure, supporting – claiming to support the opposition [in Syria].”

Clinton’s admission that Al-Qaeda is supporting the armed insurrection in Syria dovetails with reports that the same Al-Qaeda terrorists who helped overthrow Colonel Gaddafi in Libya were airlifted into Syria by NATO forces.

Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri’s has also publicly expressed support for Syrian rebel forces.
Wait, I thought our proper Pavlovian response was Al-Quaeda bad? (Or is it?) Denninger gives the proper response to this sheer insanity -
Arm the Syrian rebels?  Does this guy bother paying attention to what the rebels are doing with the weapons they already have?  Some of them are being aimed across the border into Turkey.

What purpose does that have?  Well, inciting a war with Turkey works real well when you're trying to depose an existing regime.  But the first time one of those shells falls into Turkey and fails to explode, and the other side finds "Made in USA" on the side, we suddenly have a problem when we're openly arming the guys doing the shooting!
So to sum up our foreign policy should be that we should publicly arm the individuals that we have declared mortal enemies and spent trillions of GDP and the last decade exterminating? Yes, yes Republicans, you just keep on calling the "Paulbots" idiotic when it comes to foreign policy.

Just to rub it in a step further, lets review this gem from June 2011, before the Syrian situation even got going. (With verification added in red)
'We might invade Syria and the local powers might try and stop us. So we have to deploy enough force to repel them.' How did we get to this point? Easy -
  • A target is identified, in this case Syria. (The Arab Spring starts in earnest)
  • The media runs cover for the political class covering the latest "injustices" occurring in someone else's country. (Forget the accuracy of such reports, we must do something.) (Poor candidates for the US Presidential election, 2 US credit downgrades..)
  • This reporting founds the moral basis and justification for eventual intervention. (March 2012 - Kofi Annan peace plan for Syria )
  • Money is funneled through foreign aid programs ostensibly designed to help the "poor". This money is generally confiscated by the "bad guys" via arms or fraud. (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey provide arms and logistical support to the rebels)
  • This action provides further fuel for the media's reporting. (Feb 2012 -Arm the rebels! Apr 2012 - Refugees!)
  • Private organizations and mercenaries are hired to cause problems in the target country. (Nov 2011 - Libyan Al-Quaeda flown in, Debka)
  • The media portrays this as "freedom fighters" desperately trying to win their liberty. (Mar 2012 - Saudi Arabia claims the rebels have a 'right' to take up arms against the government)
  • The target country tries to exert their laws via force to prevent the coup of their government. (Libya is a recent example) (April 2012 - Assad is escalating)
  • Some "horrific" event takes place which justifies the rationale for a military invasion. This is generally staged or exaggerated. (Think incubator babies in Iraq.) (May 2012 - Houla 'massacre', Homs)
  • Eventually the public somewhat rallies behind the idea of fixing the situation in the target country.
  • As part of the final settlement with the rebels, a central bank is installed.(Future event - Note, not a national central bank, but an international one. Future groundwork is being set)
If you can grasp this, you can understand the bulk of events in human history as the same script is relentlessly recycled to justify yet another tyrannical move.
Update: As if Turkey wasn't enough, look at that, the rebels now want to attack Lebanon too. How convenient!
Leaders of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have announced that they captured 13 suspected members of Lebanon’s Hezbollah militia around the Syrian city of Homs, and threatened to launch full scale attacks against the Lebanese capital city of Beirut if Hezbollah doesn’t withdraw entirely from the region.

The FSA statement said that Hezbollah is “deeply involved” in the ongoing civil war, and suggested that it was up to the field commanders whether to keep the captives or just execute them.

Elections 2012 - The Candidates - Narrowed

A few years ago we started tracking all major candidates and their records, particularly Republican, in order to present the public with a view of just who these candidates are, what their character is and perhaps most importantly, who they represent. Seeing as how the primary season is long since over, I've had a request to update the list and include Libertarian Gary Johnson. Rather than alter the original post, I've simply ported over the relevant data, cleaned it up and added Mr. Johnson.

Republican
Libertarian
  • Gary Johnson
    • Former Governor of New Mexico
      • Created a bigger government while Governor
        • The budget rose 5% per year during his time in office. (That's a roughly 50% increase in the size of the State Government during those eight years.)
          • When indexed for inflation -  Spending in New Mexico rose at approximately 240% the rate of inflation -- or about double and a half as fast as prices rose.
      • A major debt issue
        • The amount of debt the State Government had outstanding nearly doubled (A gross $2.78 billion increase)
        • The population of the state was (as of 2003) 1.87 million, so Governor Johnson added about $1,500 in debt to the financial responsibility of every man, woman and child in New Mexico during his administration and that's only for the state itself -- municipal governments added another billion, so the total was well over $2,000 per person.
          •  The population of New Mexico in 1995 was ~1.7 million. In 2003 it was 1.9 million, or 12% higher, an approximately 1.4% annual expansion.
        • His campaign was $200,000 in debt
    • Wants a return to the gold standard
    • Wants to cut the federal government spending by 43%.
    • Wants to institute a Fair Tax
      • Believes in Free Trade
    • Has claimed that the bankers have not committed any crimes.
    • Libertarian leaning
    • Supports gay marriage
    • Heavy on vetoes
    • Stood up against the TSA machines
    • Wants to revise entitlement programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.

Democrat

The Issues
  • The Debt (National, State)
  • Foreign policy (4 concurrent wars - Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Libya)
  • Property Rights

2012 Election Predictions

Roughly two years ago I started tracking the public positions, admissions and reported flops of various candidates in an attempt to provide some visibility into the usually sordid and murky political machine. While its success can be debated (It was hot linked on the Huffington Post and it seems to have anticipated Romney's lackluster support if one considers that I gave him a 50% chance of winning, exactly where he is polling now), it did not achieve the result that I anticipated that it would.

An individual such as myself who relies not only on faith, but a fairly rigorous intellect to cut through the jingoistic garbage that has led so many voters down the deceptive road, reasoned that it would only take a revealing of the positions of the major politicians to effectively expose them as fraudsters and sway a significant majority towards a position of liberty and economic freedom.

While the 'Liberty' movement achieved some amazing goals and almost reached critical mass, what was even more amazing was the absolute cognitive dissonance displayed by many individuals. During the election cycle, the right adopted the ideology, if not the mantra -

Anyone but Ron Paul.

As the cycle progressed and every candidate was tried and ultimately rejected, the reasoning boiled down to this axiom:

Romney not good, Obama worse - Vote Romney

Of course we now know this doctrine as  -

Anyone but Obama.

This does absolutely nothing to address our proactive concerns - 'What are we for?', not 'What are we against?', let alone deal with the relevant observations that other countries have survived significantly longer with dedicated socialists and fascists helming the country. What the right seemed to be arguing is that Obama = the death of liberty.

Years of social studies classes came flooding back in which candidates were trotted out before the masses who then legitimatized their servitude by voting for one of the oppressors. Back then, I reasoned that the masses in these countries must have been unaware of the disastrous futures they were creating for themselves and their progeny. 'You must sacrifice now if you want prosperity later!' was my cry despite their collective embrace of stockholm syndrome. It wasn't until years later that a quote would shed some light on this -
In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.
- Notebook, 1904 ~ Mark Twain
Anyways, I digress. On to the predictions -

I believe that Romney will win.
  •  The results will be close. I'm guessing a 51.5% to 48.5% popular vote for Romney.
    • Democrats are currently over represented in polls
  • Turnout will be low, very low in general.
    • Moderate among Republicans, low among Democrats.
  • There will be allegations of cheating by the Democrats
    • Democrats will cheat as well.
    • At least one state will have major irregularities. (As many as 3)
      • This will result in medium scale riots (at least 3)
After the election...
Whereas Obama was a puppet in a suit, Romney is a bankster through and through. He's here to oversee the receivership of the United States into the global financial order and everything he does will emulate his time at Bain, asset strip the entity while simultaneously claiming the opposite. This will be achieved politically by blaming Democrats and achieved financially through austerity and war.
  • Romney will waste little time in setting up a statist unification platform laced with religious overtones. Perhaps something like 'Believe in America again.' (Update 11/5: "Believe In America" is in fact the campaign's slogan since April 2011. I don't recall hearing it, but I must have heard it somewhere and internalized it into a prediction. We'll leave this one off.)
    • Romney will quickly take up the power of the state to fix the world. (Come to Israel's aid) This will play huge with the Religious Right.
    • Christians will begin to bristle that a Mormon is telling them what to do. (Don't we have a 1st Amendment?!)
  • The Republicans will quickly adopt the mantra that 'The other side messed up the economy!' (Democrats have been pinning this on Bush and now Republicans will now policy-wise return the favor.)
  • I think Obamacare will be repealed but the focus will shift to replacement immediately. (Perhaps some sort of 'augmentation' to Obamacare to fix it.

Syria 'Bombs' Turkish Village, Turkey Declares 'Almost War'

In response to a 'Syrian' shelling of Turkey, Syria is the sole rational voice thus far -
Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said that relevant authorities in Syria are investigating the source of the Wednesday mortar fire on a border town in Turkey.

Zoubi offered his sincerest condolences on behalf of the Syrian government to the family of those killed in the incident and the Turkish people.

"In case of border incidents that occur between any two neighboring countries, countries and governments must act wisely, rationally and responsibly, particularly since there's a special condition on the Syrian-Turkish borders in terms of the presence of undisciplined terrorist groups spread across the borders who have varying agendas and identities," the Minister told the Syrian TV, affirming that these groups constitute a threat to Syria's security and regional security.

The minister stressed that the Syrian-Turkish borders are long and are being used to smuggle weapons, equipment and terrorists into Syria where they committed massacres, the latest such massacre being the one committed by Al Qaeda in Aleppo.
A reasonable person at this point would be howling at the Turks right now 'What do you expect? You let these terrorists cross into our country through your borders! Of course they're bombing people. They're ter-or-ists!'

Of course Turkey wastes little time in declaring war not war on Syria -
The Turkish parliament on Thursday approved a government proposal to use military force against Syria “when necessary” in response to Wednesday’s cross-border bombardment that killed five civilians.

In an emergency meeting of parliament convened on Thursday morning, the Grand National Assembly voted 320-129 in favor of a bill calling for “a one-year-long permission to make the necessary arrangements for sending the Turkish Armed Forces” into Syria in light of the “negative impact of the ongoing crisis in Syria on our national security, as well as on regional stability and security.”
Of course long-time readers know that this is what NATO has wanted all along.

Iran - Current Military Actions

The Christian Science Monitor was kind enough to put together a list of all of the Imminent Iran Threat statements since 1979.

Here is a brief and expanding history of the recent U.S./Iranian conflict.

MEMRI (A less then reliable non-profit, possibly Israeli intelligence) disseminates a translation of a speech by Ahmadinejad in which the leader threatened to "wipe Israel off of the map?",. When properly translated, the statement was  'Israel would, because of its own faults, vanish from the pages of history'.

Some lovely pictures of Iran.

The "suitcase nuke" theory put to rest.
