War In Gaza

The regional and civil wars are devolving into full on war, namely Operation Pillar of Cloud -
Israel launched a major offensive against Palestinian militants in Gaza on Wednesday, killing the military commander of Hamas in an air strike and threatening an invasion of the enclave that the Islamist group vowed would "open the gates of hell".

The onslaught shattered hopes that a truce mediated on Tuesday by Egypt could pull the two sides back from the brink of war after five days of escalating Palestinian rocket attacks and Israeli strikes at militant targets.

Operation "Pillar of Defense" began with a surgical strike on a car carrying the commander of the military wing of Hamas, the Islamist movement which controls Gaza and dominates a score of smaller armed groups.

Within minutes of the death of Ahmed Al-Jaabari, big explosions were rocking Gaza, as the Israeli air force struck at selected targets just before sundown, blasting plumes of smoke and debris high above the crowded city.
Naturally, Gaza returned the favor by declaring waaaaahr! -
The Qassam Brigades issued a furious communique in response to Jaabari's death, saying Israel had "opened the gates of hell on itself."

Like the eternal Hatfields and McCoys, Israel and the Arabs are fighting again like the brothers they are.
Gaza shot a bunch of rockets at us!
Israel is starving our people!
Gaza is...well, you get the idea.

This is precisely why a rule of law needs to be respected. Inevitably, when one or both sides starts claiming they can flout the rules because morality, God, government, history is on their side, bad things start happening. Of course the timing of all this is highly suspect with talks of peace around the corner and Iran preparing for war. Additionally, a curious complication has risen with Egypt taking sides against Israel -
Egypt’s Islamist Freedom and Justice Party, formerly headed by President Mohammed Mursi, said on Wednesday Egypt would no longer stand by as Israel attacked Palestinians after air strikes killed a Hamas leader.
My take? The IDF is trying to start a regional war. Look for the entire region to face off and draw lines in the sand. Lebanon could start taking 'pot shots' at Israel from the north as the Syrian conflict spills over and engulfs the whole region. Blood is in the water and all sides are looking at adding to their territory. Of course the ultimate goal is Iran, Netanyahu has a few months until the election. If he's going after Iran, look for a furious escalation in Gaza trying to draw in Hezbollah from the north, justifying a response against Iran.
Syria - It appears that the road to Iran lies through Syria. The US will try to draw in Hezbollah through "regime change". (Q1)

Egypt Facing Idolic Destruction?

The Alpha religion continues to gain steam with the destruction of the old 'idols' -
An Egyptian jihad leader, with self-professed links to the Taliban, called for the “destruction of the Sphinx and the Giza Pyramids in Egypt,” drawing ties between the Egyptian relics and Buddha statues, local media reported this week.

Murgan Salem al-Gohary, an Islamist leader twice-sentenced under former President Hosni Mubarak for advocating violence, called on Muslims to remove such “idols.”

“All Muslims are charged with applying the teachings of Islam to remove such idols, as we did in Afghanistan when we destroyed the Buddha statues,” he said on Saturday during a television interview on an Egyptian private channel, widely watched by Egyptian and Arab audiences.
“God ordered Prophet Mohammed to destroy idols,” he added. “When I was with the Taliban we destroyed the statue of Buddha, something the government failed to do.”
As first noted in Egyptian Resurrection Right On Cue and expounded upon in Egypt's Military Takes Over - Spiritual Coup In Effect -
Egypt is being used as a spiritual pawn in a global game of chess to galvanize the forces of the ease against the forces of the west. Yet, one of the difficult concepts to communicate clearly to some people, especially evangelical Christians, is their involvement in an overarching plot to pave the way for a globalist religion by pitting the Christians against the Muslims in a demonization move. They see the pieces moving and rightly assess that they are in peril, but then they make the fatal mistake of engaging in maligning the people instead of the leaders and movement.
Just where does Murgan Salem al-Gohary come from?
Gohary, 50, is well-known in Egypt for his advocacy of violence, Egypt Independent reported.

“He was sentenced twice, one of the two sentences being life imprisonment. He subsequently fled Egypt to Afghanistan, where he was badly injured in the American invasion. In 2007, he traveled from Pakistan to Syria, which then handed him over to Egypt. After Mubarak's fall in early 2011, he was released from prison by a judicial ruling,” the newspaper added.
Well, well, look at where Murgan has been. Afghanistan. Syria. All of the hotbeds for recent 'terrorist' activity. Additionally he's been sentenced, twice, and yet somehow he is free... Smells fishy to me.

Many people in some sort of weird eisegesis, assume that the terrorists came first. Indeed, the first these individuals hear about many of these situations colors their entire perception of the event so badly, that they mistakenly assume that the situation that exists currently, always did exist in this state. Take Osama bin Laden, few people know that he was a CIA asset being used against the Soviet Union before the 9/11 bombings.

IF, this story is accurate, look for escalating attacks against religious icons to further drive the 'religion is bad' narrative. I would assume that we should start seeing that at the earliest after 12/21/2012 and more likely in the 2013 realm.

Iran/USA: Who is Threatening Who? | Weapons of Mass Distraction

            Iran Shoots at US Drone

CNN breaks the scandalous news -
Two Iranian Su-25 fighter jets fired on an unarmed U.S. Air Force Predator drone in the Persian Gulf on November 1, the Pentagon disclosed on Thursday.

The incident, reported first by CNN, raised fresh concerns within the Obama administration about Iranian military aggression in crucial Gulf oil shipping lanes.

The drone was on routine maritime surveillance in international airspace east of Kuwait, 16 miles off the coast of Iran, U.S. officials said. The Predator was not hit.

"Our aircraft was never in Iranian airspace. It was always flying in international air space. The recognized limit is 12 nautical miles off the coast and we never entered the 12 nautical mile limit," Pentagon Press Secretary George Little said in responding to questions from reporters after CNN reported the incident.
So, to believe the US government, Iran, which has seen countless military actions directed towards it, who has US lobbyists openly advocating framing the country for terrorism, who recently had its airspace violated by another drone, just decided to open fire on a hapless drone that was hanging out in the area?

Let's see where this was -

Oh my. Very close. Of course we're not bothered when the same thing happens to us, are we? (Mind you, that's a nuclear armed Russian sub, 300 miles away from the coast). Now, we don't suppose it's possible that the drone was perhaps inside of Iranian airspace and was retreating when it was fired upon? (Children play this game all the time in the back seat of cars) This is what Iran is claiming happened.

Iran owns up to the fact that they shot at the drone, where is the US in owning up to the terrorism that they are supporting inside the Iranian borders? Let's assume for a second that the US story is correct and the drone was 16 miles outside of Iranian airspace. Why would you be so stupid as to place your forces in such a position that they could inadvertently cross that line and violate Iranian sovereignty, thus triggering regional and possible world war?

There's a phrase for this - Dumb on purpose.

            2012 Presidential Results

What a night. The big O retains his presidency despite an increasingly hostile and desperate economy and the Republicans are slapped down in a relative hardcore fashion. (Seriously, what happened to the Red State Nation, Tea Party Express and all this macho-esque posturing?) Blame has to lie somewhere and far be it from the Republicans to accept that they fielded a terrible candidate and ultimately, that is exactly why they lost. (A repeat of 2008) Instead, there will certainly be the inevitable backlash against perceived third parties tiers - Ron Paul, Gary Johnson, etc.. 'THEY did this to us!' 'If ONLY they would work with us!'

And yet, these cries ring incredibly hollow. Remember just a few short months ago, at the GOP convention?
"As goes Maine, so goes the nation!"

But instead of taking their protest to the convention floor, the group from Texas, Maine, Nevada and Colorado marched in the hallway outside the arena repeating the chant. A convention panel switched the Maine delegates from Paul to Mitt Romney last week, saying the Paul delegates were elected in violation of party and parliamentary rules.

Adding to the anger of Paul's delegates, the convention adopted new rules Tuesday designed to limit the ability of insurgent candidates win delegates in 2016.
The so-called 'Paulbots' which had claimed the states of Nevada, Maine, Minnesota and Iowa, (And who won those states yesterday?) were regularly attracting throngs of young voters and women. They had predicted the housing bubble, the 2008 collapse and had a definitive plan to deal with the national debt; were lambasted, ridiculed and driven from the party.

And yet, we have from the New Years' predictions -
Are we responsible for our own actions?

The obvious answer to that is - NO. The GOP does not want fix the issues, Gary Johnson does not want to fix the issues and neither does Obama. But how did this happen? What caused the election to flip to a largely derided golfing hack? Let's review the predictions. From the general predictions -

            Romney will win.
Bzzzt. Wrong there. But why? Let's look deeper -
I'm guessing a 51.5% to 48.5% popular vote for Romney.
Let's see, we've got 59,651,236 for Obama and 57,028,531 for Romney. That breaks down to 51.1% going for Obama and 48.9% going to Romney, so the percentages were correct, just the breakdown was wrong.
            Turnout will be low
            And what's the result?
Preliminary figures suggest fewer people voted this year than four years ago, when voters shattered turnout records as they elected Obama to his first term.

In most states, the numbers are shaping up to be even lower than in 2004, said Curtis Gans, director of American University's Center for the Study of the American Electorate. Every state is showing lower numbers than in 2008, Gans said. Still, the full picture may not be known for weeks because much of the counting takes place after Election Day.

"This is one of those rare elections in which turnout in every state in the nation went down," Gans said.
Ok, on the money there. So what's next?
There will be allegations of cheating by the Democrats
Just to be nice and clear, allegations made by the Democrats against the Republicans. It's quite possible we might need to get some allegations of cheating made by the Republicans first to either delegitimize or overturn the results. Likely? Probably not. But still a possibility.

We still have no answer as to what happened. So what was missed? I believe Vox is scratching around in the probable culprit -
The numbers aren't firm yet, of course, because the final totals haven't been reported. But even if we assume only another one point percentage increase so that 12.9 million of the approximately 24 million Hispanics eligible voted, the reported increase from 67 to 73 percent would be an increase from 7,802,320 to 9,417,000, which is a substantial portion of Obama's reported margin of victory. And those votes are spread out very liberally through swing states such as Virginia, Colorado, and even Iowa.
I believe his overall prognosis, is correct -
Contra some optimistic left-liberal assertions after the 2008 election, I was confident that the demographic tipping point hadn't been reached yet.  It could, however, happen as soon as 2016, and it will almost certainly happen by 2024.  Once Texas becomes a reliable Democratic stronghold, which it will thanks to its Hispanic immigrant population, it will be virtually impossible for a Republican to win the presidency again.

Unless, of course, the Republican party becomes the party of white nationalism and starts winning 75 to 80 percent of the white vote, which seems extremely unlikely given SWPL cultural influence, white female left-liberalism, and the party elite's preference for irrelevance to "extremism".  So, my prediction of a US collapse by 2033 would appear to be progressing rather nicely.
In short, we have hit the demographic wall. With a massively divided country, the concept of the 'melting pot' America has turned out to be a giant sham. I would imagine that Mitt is kicking himself over the "47%" comment right about now.
"There are 47 percent who are with [Obama], who are dependent upon government, who believe they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it." – Mitt Romney
Sometimes the truth, can kill. What can we glean from this? For this, we turn to Thomas Jefferson -

“A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.” Thomas Jefferson
Finally, let's spit out some quick bullet points over what went wrong and what's going to happen next.
            • Ron Paul offered the GOP a chance to step in and fix the situation. Now they risk being voted out completely as a national party unless they completely give up their principles.
              • They completely alienated the 'Libertarians' in a totally unnecessary move at the political convention. (This is not a small group. 5-10%?)
                • This group, if it were embraced as opposed to ostracized could have provided the winning margins.
            • When the majority realizes it can vote itself 'free stuff' there will be no end to the voting.
              • This new majority consists primarily of black, Hispanic and feminist voters. (93% of the black vote, 69% of the Hispanic vote, and 74% of the Asian vote)
            • When the majority runs out of free stuff, it will either extract the 'hoarding' by force or leave
            • Producers will abandon ship more quickly now, exacerbating the problem.
We hit the debt wall and Congress fiddled. We've already started the IMF riots phase and now we've hit the cultural wall, what makes you think that any of them are on your side? More importantly, what makes you think they won't sacrifice you in the coming wars?

2012 Election Predictions - By State, Detailed

I have already gone on record indicating that Romney will win by a slim majority in the popular vote but I wanted to take the time to break down this prediction to a electoral college level. For this, I am predicting the following Romney: 306 to Obama: 232. In particular, I believe the election can be broken down into the following categories - solid, swing and a third batch of problem states that will inevitably have massive irregularities. It's these problem states that will keep the nation up most of the night and cause headaches galore. (There are already indications that this is the case) Swing these problem states and the election becomes Romney 265 to Obama's 273.

            Other notable thoughts:
            • Ohio is going to be a repeat of 2004, with allegations of machine rigging and the like.
              • Jon Husted is a name you'll be hearing a lot.
            • Florida "disenfranchisement" stories will be back.
            • Wisconsin is going to have plenty of stories of ineligible voters being bussed in and the like.
              • The momentum from the Walker recall elections will swing things to Romney.
            • Michigan goes Obama as payback for bailing out the auto industry. If by some odd chance Romney takes the state, expect riots.
            • The curious stories will be New York and New Jersey. How does the storm effect them?
            • I think it's telling that Massachusetts doesn't want Romney as President.
            • Pennsylvania goes Obama - Yes, Romney's building momentum. It's too little, too late.
            • Utah is going to be ecstatic that the first non-Christian President is a Mormon.
            • The military is going to start openly discussing coups if Obama wins by some odd fate.
            • The UN observers in Texas - They're going to find something to cast doubt on the entire voting process. It may not be very substantive, but the globalists need to hang their hats on something external.

Back at the beginning of the year, TRE posited the following question -
Are we responsible for our own actions?
Consider the following video in relation to our religion, personal morals and specifically our business environments. (After all, if Corzine can steal without repercussion, how can we possibly hold our children responsible?)

Hurricane Sandy, Oddities and Past Events

They say that history doesn't repeat so much as rhyme. True to form, this has been a very interesting storm so far. Let's start with the timing, one week before the election and hot on the heels of the Benghazi story -
Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. consulate and subsequent attack several hours later on the annex itself was denied by the CIA chain of command -- who also told the CIA operators twice to "stand down" rather than help the ambassador's team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.

Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired, they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to "stand down," according to sources familiar with the exchange. Soon after, they were again told to "stand down."
Add to this the unclassified cables and you have a downright damning indictment of the Obama administration's handling of Benghazi. One would think that one week prior to historic national elections, news such as this would be dominating the headlines and not a presumptive deadly storm.

Add in the abysmal outlook of futures for the markets and dismal 3Q earnings reports and things get even more interesting -
With equity cash and futures markets closed, we thought it useful to gauge where equities might have closed if they were trading. As so many need month-end marks for reporting and OPEX-based hedgers are likely anxious, we thought getting some perspective from what the machines are seeing would be useful. With Kevin Henry gone gray as Treasuries closed, risk-assets slipped modestly on the day - with a late day push to the lows on the back of Merkel's 'nein' on euro-bonds. To wit, based on the dependence with FX and commodity markets, S&P 500 futures would be trading under the critical 1400 level. - and based on the Toronto Stock Exchange, S&P 500 cash would be trading around 1404 (down around 8pts on the day). S&P futures are set to re-open at 1700ET 1800ET (and based on CME's site will close again at 0915ET tomorrow).

All of that alone, would be enough to raise some eyebrows over the odd timing over such events. Could such events be influenced? Nah. Surely they can't be orchestrated? Just to bring in the bizarre, we get the following from the coincidence machine -
Back in the late 90s, the National Hurricane Center in Miami conducted a drill based on a fictional hurricane named Sandy. In the drill, the storm strikes the East Coast.

The fictitious storm was modeled after the Hurricane of 1938. The “Long Island Express” was a Category 3 hurricane that hit Long Island and killed nearly 800 people cause nearly $5 billion in damages.

The hurricane now projected to hit the New Jersey coast is being compared to the Long Island Express.

A web page has surfaced from 1996 (the date is timestamped on the page’s source code) with “texts of the simulated bulletins, forecasts, discussions and strike probabilities along with the hurricane’s track were sent home with the seminar attendees. We named the simulated hurricane after Sandy, who incidentally was nine years old during the real Hurricane of 1938.”

The page is posted on the Westchester Emergency Communications Association website. It received an update by Alan Crosswell on Friday, October 17, 1997.

Of course they would have to have some sort of method of accomplishing this. For that we turn to a Friday report from HAARP news -
HaarpStatus has finally come to a bullseye over what looks like Rhode Island and Connecticut.

Current projections at NOAA say Hurricane Sandy will hit New Jersey. Our status numbers disagree. The storm is being steered toward the higher concentration numbers.

Truly remarkable numbers and it is one to archive because this may never be seen again in a very long time.

            Wavelengths -
Shortwaves indicate near events, a high short spike usually means a short term major event is about to happen in that area.

Longwaves and steady increases usually mean a large scale change is developing in the area that will effect a large area’s upper level jet stream.
But is this sort of thing, real? Of course -
Dr. Nick Begich and Jeane Manning are experts on HAARP and its military application. “Put simply, the apparatus for HAARP is a reversal of a radio telescope; antenna send out signals instead of receiving. HAARP is the test run for a super-powerful radiowave-beaming technology that lifts areas of the ionosphere by focusing a beam and heating those areas. Electromagnetic waves then bounce back onto earth and penetrate everything — living and dead,” they explain.

The U.S. government admits electromagnetic manipulation of weather is a reality. In 1996, during a Department of Defense news briefing, Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen said governments can “alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves.”

            or
As weather modification expert Ben Livingston, who has a degree in cloud physics from the Naval Weapons Center and Navy Post Graduate School in California, told Alex Jones in 2005, hurricane behavior can be modified by seeding clouds with silver iodide. The University of Colorado and others have published reports on the effectiveness of cloud seeding.

Ben Livingston “seeded clouds and dramatically increased rainfall in his theater of war, creating impassably muddy roads, slowing down the Vietnamese and Korean troops, and saving lives and entire towns from occupation,” Paul and Steve Watson reported on October 14, 2055.
Now, does any of this prove anything? No, not at all. But it does certainly raise some eyebrows given the bizarre timing. We would do best to keep our eyes peeled for more of this if we are to prove anything.

On Taxes, Loopholes and the Like

Mitt reportedly does the same thing that the rest of the elite do -
In 1997, Congress cracked down on a popular tax shelter that allowed rich people to take advantage of the exempt status of charities without actually giving away much money.

Individuals who had already set up these vehicles were allowed to keep them. That included Mitt Romney, then the chief executive officer of Bain Capital, who had just established such an arrangement in June 1996.

The charitable remainder unitrust, as it is known, is one of several strategies Romney has adopted over his career to reduce his tax bill. While Romney’s tax avoidance is legal and common among high-net-worth individuals, it has become an issue in the campaign. President Barack Obama attacked him in their second debate for paying “lower tax rates than somebody who makes a lot less.”

In this instance, Romney used the tax-exempt status of a charity -- the Mormon Church, according to a 2007 filing -- to defer taxes for more than 15 years. At the same time he is benefitting, the trust will probably leave the church with less than what current law requires, according to tax returns obtained by Bloomberg this month through a Freedom of Information Act request.

In general, charities don’t owe capital gains taxes when they sell assets for a profit. Trusts like Romney’s permit funders to benefit from that tax-free treatment, said Jonathan Blattmachr, a trusts and estates lawyer who set up hundreds of such vehicles in the 1990s.
Where to start with this mess? For starters, I do not hold it against individuals that abide by 'the rules of the game' and in many situations, that's exactly what they are doing. I do oppose the rules to the game in general however simply because it has become so complex, so asinine and so burdensome to comply that the whole thing becomes a separate career unto itself. As a general rule, if you need a CPA just to figure out what your personal tax burden is, the whole thing is far too complicated. But this is exactly what is needed to destabilize things.

I would go so far as to argue that a decent percentage of our current woes come from the very concept of 'structuring' itself. Don't want to pay taxes? Form a charity, call it the 'Me Charity', send all of the income you make to charity, as a donation from the goodness of your heart of course, pay someone to give some real needy kids something they need and pay yourself an exorbitant salary to oversee this whole hassle. (In line with other compassionate salaries of course.) Then, if you're questioned, your supporters can attack someone for the temerity of suggesting that you don't pay 'your fair share'. After all, what's my fair share? And what I did was legal.

It is this constant inanity that has people screaming about rich (relative term) people ducking (ambiguous) their fair share (another relative term). Just who is rich? Who's ducking? (After all, it's legal.) And what is a fair share? All these questions serve to do is enrage a base into a form of class warfare. Get the producers! is the war cry as "saving" becomes synonymous with "hoarding". After all, you're not spending enough to avoid the paradox of thrift!

Overall, this kind of discussion is like playing a game of football with moving end zones, impossible to make progress or figure the rules out.

What to do? Just give the cash to the banksters and politicians, they know what to do with it.

Thermite explosion, one of the best 9/11 video evidence so far.

            The 'Under 21' Argument

You would think we could get some form of consistency here -
The United States may ban federally licensed firearms dealers from selling handguns to people under age 21, an appeals court ruled on Thursday, in a defeat for the National Rifle Association.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Houston rejected the NRA's argument that 18- to 20-year-olds had a right to buy the guns under the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, as well as the equal protection clause of the Fifth Amendment.

A unanimous three-judge panel said Congress, in a law dating from 1968, adopted the sales ban to help curb violent crime. It also said that the nation's founders and 19th-century courts and commentators believed that disarming specific groups did not trample on the right to bear arms.

"Congress was focused on a particular problem: young persons under 21, who are immature and prone to violence, easily accessing handguns," mainly from licensed dealers, Judge Edward Prado wrote for the panel.

"The present ban appears consistent with a longstanding tradition of age- and safety-based restrictions on the ability to access arms," he added.
This stuff is getting so convoluted, it's amazing this country functions at all. Which angle is an individual supposed to take this from? Well, let's finish the article first -
In reaching its conclusion, the 5th Circuit also rejected an NRA request that it apply "strict scrutiny" in considering the sales ban.

It said a less rigorous review was appropriate because the law did not prevent 18- to 20-year-olds from using handguns for self-defense and other lawful purposes, and people subject to the ban would eventually surmount it by turning 21.

"The government has satisfied its burden of showing a reasonable means-ends fit between the challenged federal laws and an important government interest," Prado wrote.

Prado was appointed to the 5th Circuit by President George W. Bush. He was joined in his opinion by Judge Carolyn Dineen King, who was appointed by President Jimmy Carter; and Judge Catharina Haynes, who was also appointed by Bush.
Now, I can't speak to any particulars on the case, only on the generalities being offered by the article but the first thing that jumps out at me is that this was a unanimous decision and 2 of the individuals were appointed by...Bush. (So much for the concept of conservatives making important judicial appointments)

You see, the Federal government has taken on this 'interested party' routine a lot lately whereby the conversations are transformed from being a non-existent third party mediating issues to being one of the injured parties. Some of that can be seen in the following comments -
"The government has satisfied its burden of showing a reasonable means-ends fit between the challenged federal laws and an important government interest," Prado wrote.
Government interests eh? And what are these interests?
"Congress was focused on a particular problem: young persons under 21, who are immature and prone to violence, easily accessing handguns,"
Ahhhhhh...and now the big evil comes into view. "There ought to be a law..." asserts itself again. In this particular situation, there is a law, but it's not good enough because we don't want something, namely gun violence.

You will routinely find this with free-market tinkerers. Things are good, we just need to tweak it a bit. Of course the cause is always noble and you can count on them being incommunicado when the consequential roosters of their experimentation come home to roost. Perhaps the violence has another cause that you need to investigate, but even that ignores the much larger issues -
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. ~ 2nd Amendment
Oh my, that causes some problems doesn't it? The supreme law says that Congress, which coincidentally gets its authority from the supreme law, cannot infringe the people's rights. Last I checked 18 was considered a person, no?

But this raises a much larger issue that's been finding it's way into the American psyche as of late, specifically tiered rights. We see this with regards to many of the discussion cropping up in judicial circles, social networking, and journalism. Let's examine the example provided -
"Congress was focused on a particular problem: young persons under 21, who are immature and prone to violence, easily accessing handguns,"
Here's how this conversation should have gone.
            "Congress was focused...."
            "Do they have authority?"
            "No"
            "Next item on the agenda."

...buuuuut, that's not how it went. So let's look at the next thought process.
"...young persons under 21, who are immature.."
Now right there, this should give everyone pause. Know why?

            No?

Here, I'll give you a hint. According to definition, just who is mature?

            Got it? Old people.

The statement made is a relative statement. Of course younger people are immature, they're SUPPOSED TO BE BY DEFINITION. Put another way, are 5 year-olds good with checkbooks? Of course not, they haven't gotten to that point yet. Guess what, 20 year-olds are going to be more prone to violence than 80 year olds because they are young and inexperienced and full of testosterone. (Seriously, watch some toddlers deal with toy distribution once, you'll get the idea.)

The difference between children and 'young adults' is in the legalities of the whole thing. We have decided in this country that 18 is the age at which we will hold individuals, instead of their parents, accountable for their actions. (As an aside, I think a good case can be made for making that age 15-16, if not 13) As such, the first time these individuals start experiencing the full ramifications of their decisions is 18. Some individuals are slow learners and as such, it takes them a few years to learn how not to be an idiot.

In total, this has the real effect of delaying adulthood and responsibility. The stats are bearing this out and the consequences are punishing us. Marriage rates are way down, childbearing is way down, the prison population is exploding and the country's culture is decaying.

However, we've figured out that trying 16 year old murderers works. Why? Because we are holding what should be an adult, to an adult standard. This action has a chilling effect on would be child murderers because they know they can go to jail. (If you doubt this, ask what would happen if ever person under 18 knew they could kill without legal consequence. Hint - The gangs would hire 17 year-olds to do all the shooting because it would be legal.)

Overall, this country thinks it can tweak everything to the point that it will all just...work. This is foolhardy though because moving the standards, also moves the goal post. The harsh reality though is that biology is a constant and the consequences of denying its reality are corroding the pillars of the New Utopian Construct that the elite desire so desperately.
